The Indian Navy ship Trishul completed a port call on 3 November 2026 in Suda Bay, Greece. During the visit senior officers of the Indian and Greek navies held professional talks and cultural programmes to strengthen maritime relations.
During the port call, Trishul’s commanding officer met heads of the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre (NMIOTC) and the US Navy Support Activity (NSA) based in Suda Bay. Discussions focused on operational strategy, cooperation and mutual support.
Cultural programme and diplomatic visit
India’s Ambassador to Greece, Shri Ravi Shankar, also toured the ship and obtained information on its combat capabilities. The event was attended by the commander of the NATO missile‑firing installation, Major General N. Dimitrakos, senior officers of the Greek and US navies, and members of the Indian community.
Passage exercise
After departing Suda Bay, Trishul participated in a passage exercise with the Greek Navy’s HS Limnos (F451). The drill included maneuvering drills, logistics supply, helicopter cross‑deck landing and communication procedures.
The exercise gave both navies the opportunity to work together at sea, share professional expertise and enhance operational coordination.
