Jaipur, 28 October. Dr. Neeraj K. Pawan, director general of the Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj Institute, lit the lamp on Wednesday at the institute’s campus to launch the Rajivika Diwali fair. The fair will be held from 28 October to 4 November 2026 daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. On the occasion, he inspected the stalls set up by women of Rajivika’s self‑help groups (SHGs) and reviewed their handcrafted products. He praised the women’s skill and creativity, encouraged them and conveyed his best wishes.
Dr. Pawan said that the Diwali fair organised by Rajivika will give women of self‑help groups better opportunities for employment and livelihood along with showcasing and marketing their products. Such events recognise women’s skills and provide them a wider market for their goods.
He appealed to Jaipur residents to visit the fair, encourage the SHG women and purchase handcrafted items from the more than 100 stalls. The fair offers terracotta, wooden products, embroidery and various handicrafts as well as a range of food items. He urged the general public to come to the fair on Diwali, enjoy handcrafted decorative items and traditional dishes, and promote local products.
