District Collector and District Magistrate Dr. Amit Yadav of Shri Ganganagar issued a restriction order under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defence Code 2023 on 6 November to maintain public safety, peace and law and order during Diwali.
According to the order, compliance with the conditions imposed by the Supreme Court on crackers is mandatory. No person may throw fire arrows, crackers or fireworks on anyone.
Key provisions of the order
• Fireworks are prohibited within 100 m of petrol pumps, gas depots and similar places.
• Firecrackers that can cause fire when they fall are prohibited from being used or purchased.
• Within 2 km of the international border, fireworks and crackers are prohibited from 7 pm to 6 am.
• Those who violate the order will be dealt with as per the law.
• The order will be effective from 5 pm on 6 November to 12 am on 9 November 2026.
