Shri Ganganagar, 6 Nov – The District Collector and District Magistrate issued directives to maintain law and order and public peace during Diwali.

According to District Magistrate Dr. Amit Yadav, no shopkeeper should sell fireworks without a licence on Diwali.

Requirements for fireworks

At the sales venue, four buckets of soil, a water drum and blankets must be provided.

In case of an unpleasant incident, the Fire Brigade, PMO, ambulance and City Control Room must be notified immediately.

Formation and coordination of the team

A team was formed including the Sub‑Magistrate, Sub‑Police Superintendent of the city and Fire Officer of Shri Ganganagar.

As per the description, all Sub‑Magistrates, Tehsildars and Sub‑Tehsildars, apart from the district headquarters, will coordinate with police officers in their respective areas to ensure compliance with orders.

Temporary licences and conditions

Shopkeepers must comply with the conditions imposed by the Supreme Court when issuing temporary licences for the purchase and sale of green crackers.

Explosives such as dhoomka, jet, rocket and air‑plane crackers will not be sold and crackers will be kept inside the shop.

The licence will be valid only if the stock register is kept item‑wise and the Explosive Act is fully complied with.

Ensuring no inconvenience to the public and no public nuisance is also part of the orders.

The assigned licence number must be posted on a poster and displayed in large letters outside the shop.

The applicant must post a notice prohibiting smoking inside and outside the shop.
