On Oct 26, training for 500 assistant polling officers (first) started at the town hall of Boondi Municipal Council, gearing up for Panchayati Raj General Election 2026 district council, panchayat samiti, panch and sarpanch elections.
According to the Information and Public Relations Department, trainer Chandraprakash Rathore said voters will first approach the assistant polling officer‑first and verify identity with a valid photo ID.
Key topics covered in the training
The training explained that for district council and panchayat samiti elections, voter signatures will be taken in separate registers and voting will be done with EVMs, whereas for panch‑sarpanch elections ballot papers will be issued without signatures.
Trainers Chandraprakash Rathore, Bhuprendra Sharma, Navneet Jain, Hemant Jha, Sanjay Gupta and Amit Vijayvargiya briefed polling officers on their duties to ensure impartial, peaceful and vigilant voting. The final segment covered operation of EVMs and ballot boxes.
Arrangement of polling teams
According to the District Election Polling Team Formation and Training Cell, 991 polling teams have been formed for the 796 polling stations across the district’s 235 panchayats, including 195 reserve teams.
