Former BJP leader Chiranjilal Tank of Rajsamand district resigned from party on 24 October. In his resignation letter he claimed to have been a BJP worker for 50 years, accusing the organization of continuous neglect in the past 10‑12 years
Tank served as Lasoni sarpanch from 1995 to 2000, joint Devgarh mandal president of BJP from 2000 to 2003, and Devgarh Panchayat Samiti chairman from 2005 to 2010, strengthening party roots in the area
Reason for resignation
According to Tank, a video that went viral on social media 5‑7 days ago called him ‘traitor’ and ‘idiot’. He considered it public humiliation and decided to resign on 24 October
Party response
Rajsamand district president Jagdishchandra Palival did not accept the resignation and urged Tank to stay with the party and work for the organization. Tank’s resignation letter was also sent to the state BJP office, Jaipur
