To get to the bottom of the Kamla Kankaria murder in Bilwara, Bheemganj police tore down the roof at the crime scene and set up a temporary police outpost.

Station in‑charge Sunil Chaudhary’s team, under SP Sagar Rana’s direction, launched a rapid probe aiming to solve all links within 24 hours.

Key points of the investigation

According to police, the victim’s body was burnt on the open roof after midnight on 13 October, blackening the floor and causing cracks.

Accused Ravi V. Heera Sindhi called labourer Raju at 7:30 a.m. on 14 October to repair the roof using cement, gravel and whitewash.

Debris generated before the repair was dumped into a drain, which the labourer then emptied into the Pandu drain, but a two‑hour search of the drain yielded no suspect.

Police action

Police also involved Mahatma Gandhi Hospital’s medical jurist Dr. Anupam Bansali in the probe and brought the victim’s daughter‑in‑law Ravina to the site.

Labourer Raju confirmed he was promised a wage of five hundred rupees for the repair, but he was not paid.
