Police busted a sex‑trafficking racket in Bhavanimandi, Jhalawar district on November 6, rescuing six minor girls and taking five suspects into custody.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Budania said the operation was launched on the basis of a secret complaint received on October 7.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed under Additional Superintendent of Police Ayush Shrotriya and Bhagchand Meena.
Evidence was gathered through surveillance cameras and digital records, after which more than 100 police officers carried out a joint raid on November 3.
Medical examinations revealed that five of the girls had been repeatedly sexually abused, and two tested positive for sexually transmitted infections.
The accused were presented before court under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and the POZO Act and sent to police custody for three days.
The rescued girls have been placed in a child welfare home as ordered by the Child Welfare Committee, where they are receiving treatment.
