The Union Ministry of Culture has signed an MoU with 'Google Arts & Culture' to digitize and share India's cultural heritage. The agreement was finalized in a virtual ceremony, attended by Ministry of Culture Secretary Vivek Aggarwal and 'Google Arts & Culture' Vice President and Founder Amit Sood.

The main objective of this partnership is to make the country's cultural heritage accessible to the general public using modern digital tools. Under this, protected monuments of the Archaeological Survey of India, archaeological sites, assets of national museums, manuscripts documented under Gyan Bharatam, and crafts and performing arts of various institutions will be preserved in digital form.

Yuge Yugin Bharat Museum will be at the center

At the center of this agreement is the 'Yuge Yugin Bharat Museum' being developed in the North and South Blocks of New Delhi. Its digitization will create a permanent record of these historic buildings and the artifacts housed within them. According to the ministry, the initiative aims to make India's heritage easily available in Indian languages and on any device.

Ministry of Culture Secretary Vivek Aggarwal said that documenting this heritage through technology and making it available to people worldwide will bring more people closer to the story of Indian civilization. Meanwhile, 'Google Arts & Culture' Vice President Amit Sood said this partnership reflects their commitment to bridging ancient heritage with modern access.
