Mythological memories of Lord Rama are associated with Ram Kund located in the hill station Mount Abu of Sirohi district. To reach this natural kund and ancient temple built amidst the Aravalli hills, tourists have to pass through rocky paths.

This natural Ram Kund is situated at a distance of about one kilometer from Sarveshwar Raghunath Temple near Nakki Lake. Mount Abu is considered the place of education of Lord Rama, because the ashram of Kul Guru Maharshi Vashishth was located here in Gaumukh. It is believed that Lord Shri Ram used to come to this kund to take a bath during his education with his brothers.

700-year-old history of the temple and unique idol

The history of Sarveshwar Raghunath Temple built on the banks of Nakki Lake is 700 years old. This temple was established in the 14th century by Jagadguru Ramanandacharya and is considered the birthplace of the Tapsi branch of the Ramanandi sect.

According to local devotee Prakash Kumar, the idol of Lord Shri Ram established in the sanctum sanctorum of this temple is swayambhu and here Lord Shri Ram is seated alone in ascetic form without Mother Sita and Lakshman. The architecture of the temple is like a palace and the paintings of Lord Vishnu's doorkeepers, Hanuman and Garuda are engraved on its walls.

Darshan timings and necessary precautions

Darshan can be done in this temple from 6 am to 12 noon and from 5 pm to 9 pm. On the occasion of Ram Navami, special worship, hawan and bhandara are organized here.
