During the EPFO 74th anniversary event at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi, Central Labour and Employment Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya announced the launch of WhatsApp‑based services and automatic settlement of dormant accounts.
Ministers said that contributions from over 80 crore members have accumulated a fund of 32 lakh crore rupees, and this year about 1 lakh accounts will benefit from 5 crore rupees.
WhatsApp‑based services
Members can view their PF balance, last five transactions and passbook details via EPFO’s verified WhatsApp service. Personal guidance linked to PMVBRY will also be available.
Automatic settlement
Members with dormant accounts verified by Aadhaar and bank account, holding up to ₹1,000, will not need to file separate claims. After identification and verification, the amount will be transferred directly to the account.
