Advancing the plan to induct sportspersons into government service, the state‑level committee approved 235 new applications. The decision was taken on Thursday at the Secretariat under the leadership of Chief Secretary V. Srinivas
The approved proposals are divided into three categories. In the first category, nine outstanding players will be appointed as Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP). In the second category, two players will be appointed as Police‑in‑Charge officers in the Excise Department and as Sub‑Inspectors (SI). The remaining 224 players will be appointed as Clerk‑Grade‑II, Police Constables, Excise Department constables/guards and Assistant Jailer
Inclusion of para athletes
Among the 224 appointments, 73 are differently‑abled (para) athletes, supporting the state’s inclusive policy. The committee said the move will encourage the development of para sports
Summary of earlier appointments
Since December 2023, the Rajasthan government has provided out‑of‑turn jobs to a total of 187 medal‑winning athletes. The new approval will raise that number and give athletes the chance to focus on sport with financial security
Status of Forest Department athletes
The meeting also discussed the service status and issues faced by athletes already serving in the Forest Department. Officials considered a one‑time waiver and, where needed, the possibility of re‑posting to other departments, offering relief to Forest Department athletes
