Bundi, 23 October. Government‑run welfare schemes are bringing positive change to small business owners. Through the PM Swadhin Yojana, resident Ajay of Bundi has received financial backing to expand his fast‑food stall.
Ajay has run a fast‑food stall near Government College, Devpura for many years, sustaining his family. During the COVID‑19 pandemic his finances weakened. He lacked sufficient capital to purchase goods for the business, often resorting to high‑interest loans. A large portion of his earnings went to interest payments.
During this time he learned about the PM Swadhin Yojana via the Bundi Municipal Council. He applied under the scheme, received a loan, and reorganised his business. After repaying the loan on time, he applied for a second loan of ₹20,000. Adopting digital payments increased his customer base and enabled him to keep extra stock.
Through continuous effort, regular payments and business progress, Ajay later secured a ₹50,000 loan. He is repaying this loan. Based on his good repayment record, he became eligible for the PM Swadhin Credit Card.
Ajay's story shows that timely financial support and hard work can give small businesses a new direction. The PM Swadhin Yojana helped him reduce dependence on high‑interest loans, grow his business and move toward economic self‑reliance.
Beneficiary Ajay's words:
“PM Swadhin Yojana has given my business a new direction and helped me become economically self‑reliant.”
