Bundi, 5 November – Labour department issued directive to all employers, managers, industrial units, shops, commercial establishments and outsourcing and contract agencies in the district on the auspicious occasion of Diwali.
Labour welfare officer Ankita Maharshi appealed to all institutions to pay bonus to workers and employees before Diwali.
Legal basis and obligation
Ankita Maharshi explained that under Section‑26(1) of the Wage Code, 2019 each institution must pay the due bonus within the end of the eighth month of the financial year.
She appealed to all institutions to pay the due bonus before Diwali so that workers can celebrate the festival with joy.
If an institution fails to pay bonus as per the rule, legal action will be taken against it under the relevant provisions.
