Jaipur, 26 October. Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Chairman Shri Vasudev Devanani on Monday attended the ‘Diwali Dazzle Night‑2026’ ceremony organised at the Sri Lanka High Commission in New Delhi. On the occasion he met ambassadors of various countries and other distinguished guests and extended Diwali greetings and best wishes. The event highlighted Indian culture, tradition and the timeless values of the Ramayana.
Organised by Global Trade and Technology Council (India) and Lions Club Delhi VEG, the ceremony was attended by former Union State Minister Meenakshi Lekhi, Rajasthan Government’s Chief Housing Commissioner Rohit Kumar and Rajasthan Academy Chairman Dr. Gaurav Gupta among other dignitaries.
In his address, Shri Devanani referred to the dignity, duty, sacrifice and ideals associated with Lord Shri Ram, stating that the Ramayana is not merely a religious text but a timeless guide that points life in the right direction. Lord Shri Ram’s restrained conduct, Mother Sita’s patience and devotion, Lakshman's brotherly love and sacrifice, and Bharat’s detachment from power are cultural ideals that continue to inspire society.
Shri Devanani highlighted the suppression of Ravana’s arrogance, emphasizing that arrogance, injustice and adharma will inevitably end. Conversely, values such as dignity, truth, sacrifice and virtue guide humanity on the right path. The message of the Ramayana is not limited to any one country or society but is relevant to the global community.
Shri Devanani said the Diwali festival symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness, truth over falsehood and dharma over adharma. The festival inspires us to embrace positivity, harmony, compassion and social cohesion in our lives.
The international gathering at the Sri Lanka High Commission provided an opportunity for cultural dialogue, mutual goodwill and sharing of Indian traditions among representatives of various countries. Amid Diwali celebrations, the universal spirit of Indian culture and the humanitarian values of the Ramayana resonated.
