Jaipur, 23 October. The livestock department's orientation programme for newly appointed veterinary officers concluded on Friday. On the second day, a special session was held on 'Conduct Rules and Leave Rules under Rajasthan Service Rules'.

On the occasion, Director of the Livestock Department Dr. Suresh Chand Meena instructed all newly appointed veterinary officers to strictly adhere to technical skills, government regulations, latest amendments and departmental directives during their service. He expressed confidence that the officers will perform excellently in the field and enhance the department’s reputation in serving livestock owners.

The programme highlighted technical and medical duties, office administration, better implementation of departmental schemes, and rules for establishing improved coordination between senior and subordinate staff.

Speakers clarified that an officer’s conduct in government service reflects the department’s image and public trust, not just personal behavior. Under the Rajasthan Civil Service (Conduct) Rules, 1971, all newly appointed officers were briefed on maintaining absolute integrity, dedication to duty, and the dignity of the post. They were also informed about leave eligibility, various types of holidays, and legal and practical aspects requiring prior approval from the competent authority as per Rajasthan Service Rules.

At the end of the session, a question‑and‑answer segment was held to address officers’ doubts. The director and senior departmental officials thanked the invited subject‑matter experts for their valuable guidance.
