The seven‑day ‘BRICS Sustainable Lifestyle Week 2026’, organised in Jaipur to promote environmental protection and sustainable living, concluded on Saturday, 7 November. During the event the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (RSPCB) held a special awareness programme under the ‘Reduce Waste’ theme.

According to the government press release, the programme aimed to develop awareness among staff about minimising waste generation, responsible use of resources and sustainable practices. Officials and employees were urged to avoid single‑use plastic, cut down paper consumption and adopt the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) principles.

Emphasis on prudent use of resources

During the programme, Additional Chief Environmental Engineer Amit Sharma and Deputy Scientific Officer Abhishek Sharma addressed the staff. The officials said that for environmental protection, merely disposing of waste is not enough; waste generation must be reduced from the outset.

At the close of the event, officials and staff jointly pledged to conserve natural resources and build a green environment. The press release noted that from 1 to 7 November, a series of awareness activities on various environmental topics were organised.
