Maheep Purohit

Young Innovator

Maheep Purohit is an 18‑year‑old Indian deep‑tech innovator, artificial intelligence researcher, and entrepreneur from Bikaner, Rajasthan, who has earned national attention as one of the state’s youngest inventors to secure an official patent in industrial AI and heavy infrastructure safety. His journey began at just 15 years old when he questioned why critical infrastructure relies on reactive maintenance rather than predictive intelligence. Teaching himself advanced machine learning, the Internet of Things (IoT), and signal analytics entirely outside traditional elite labs, Purohit developed the Adaptive Intelligent Pipeline Integrity System (AIPIS) to detect pipeline vulnerabilities in real time and preempt costly industrial disasters. His work rapidly drew institutional and industry backing, securing technology partnerships with NVIDIA Inception, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and funding from Rajasthan’s flagship startup program, iStart Rajasthan. Beyond infrastructure hardware, Purohit made significant waves in foundational machine learning research by tackling the problem of noisy training data. Recognizing that standard neural networks fail to distinguish between reliable and unreliable inputs during updates, he formulated the Epistemic Weight Engine (EWE) and open‑sourced ewe‑gate as an independent researcher. Today, he serves as Project Head at JJP TECH, leads the startup initiative Nolgy, and writes as a technology columnist advocating for grassroots youth innovation across India.

Rajasthan’s Tech Landscape: Where It Stands and How to Expand?

Presenting Rajasthan as an emerging hub in the digital world over the past few years is one thing. Its progress is evident on paper: the e‑governance framework is robust, large data centres in Jaipur and Jodhpur have capacity, the i‑Start scheme and Mahindra World City are in place. But when we look at the numbers, a stark contradiction emerges.
